Custom design and fabrication project: Residential lighting
By integrating all aspects of materials and finishes, the designer, builder, architect or homeowner can realize a complete vision in lighting design. Our project in this Austin suburb is a good demonstration of this.

This project encompassed custom interior and exterior lighting, including

- custom exterior copper and mica wall sconces
- custom exterior copper and glass post lanterns
natural weathering and patina
These photos were taken at least 16 years after the project was completed, and show how both the iron and copper fixtures have changed and mellowed through natural weathering and patina.
JCWS wall sconces
Wrought iron “cage style” JCWS wall sconces with iridescent art glass diffusers. These fixtures were custom designed for this residence.
JHWS-4 wall sconces
Custom JHWS-4 style sconces in Medium Copper with natural mica diffusers. The diamond patterns create a beautiful interplay between shadow and light.
Copper framed mirror with AWS onyx wall sconces
Custom copper mirror frame in Medium Copper, bookended with custom AWS natural onyx & copper wall sconces.
Each AWS onyx piece is cut from a larger slab, and the details of each individual onyx diffuser will vary from piece to piece. These were bookend cuts from the same slab, to make a matched pair.
